The Gift of Shelter In Nevada County
Each night 54 people are provided with shelter, meals, safety and warmth at Hospitality House in Grass Valley….but with a sudden cut back in state funding, the Hospitality House needs donors now more than ever in order to continue to provide this respite to the homeless.
Hospitality House has been a community partner of the Nevada County Association of REALTORS ® for several years, with local REALTORS® and staff participating in events such as Night of Giving and Empty Bowl so it comes as no surprise that local REALTORS and Affiliates are stepping up to Adopt-a-Night at Hospitality House. This program allows for individuals and companies to affordably provide a night of compassionate, substantive care including nourishing meals, medical care and many other crucial services besides a safe and comfortable place to sleep and shower.
With all that in mind I chose to sponsor a night myself. The cost is really minimal and what a great feeling to know that 54 people are off the streets, safe and having meals $395.00! – Yes ….$395 provides shelter for 54 people!
Hospitality House, for those who do not know, provides many services besides temporary shelter, the services include a rapid-rehousing program, a culinary skills job training program and access to a medical clinic to name a few.
Shelter  is something that many of us just take for granted…..shelter is a gift that keeps giving, so please consider giving the gift of shelter to someone less fortunate.
