If you are considering a move to Nevada County there is no better opportunity to get to know the culture than attending the Nevada County Fair!

Rated as one of the prettiest fairgrounds in the State of California, the Nevada County Fair offers a unique and fun entertainment opportunity, with lots of live local music, fun displays of local talent, vendors and not to be missed Treat Street which features an amazing array of food and drink options prepared by local non-profit groups who use this fundraising to support the good work they do all year long locally.

The Nevada County Fair also shows off our incredibly diverse agricultural community by showcasing 4-H, FFA, Grange, Independent and open livestock, poultry, rabbit and exotic projects along with foods and flowers. Don’t miss the Ag Mechanics Auction on Friday evening to see talented FFA members display and sell projects crafted of metal and wood where they show off their fabrication, welding and woodworking excellence.  The Junior Livestock Auction takes place on Saturday and the public is welcome to come bid on and purchase a youth raised animal to re-sell or put in your freezer, the public can also place bumps on project animals to help the exhibitors.

Youth and adults compete in cooking, preserving, jam making and other specialty foods, sewing, arts and crafts, and growing produce, plants and flowers. The ugliest cake competition is always fun to check out as is the painting and photography sections.

There is just so much to do and so much to taste that it is hard to see it all in one day.

Our office has a booth near Caroline’s Coffee Roasters and every year it is fun to see old friends and clients as they stroll through….it’s kind of like a  reunion without the stress. Please do come by and say “Hi”.

Hope to see you at the fair!
